Research Opportunity at Department of Science and Technology, National Institute of Technology Srinagar

National Institute of Technology Srinagar is inviting applications from individuals to fill the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the project titled “3-GSuper Cetane Diesel Production from 3-G-Algal Biomass: An Efficient Green Fuel for Decarbonizing Transportation Sector”.

Essential Qualifications: 1. MSc in Chemistry with minimum 60% aggregate marks (CGPA ≥ 6.5/10) to qualify under Open/OBC category and minimum 55% aggregate marks (CGPA ≥6.0) for candidates under SC/ST/PWD category. 2. Must have Qualified CSIR-UGC NET or GATE.

Desirable: Candidates interested to pursue PhD in Chemistry/Bioenergy area will be preferred.

Age: Upper age limit is 28 years. Age relaxation for reserve candidate will be given as per UGC/DST/Govt. norms.

Note: 1. The selected candidate may be considered for admission to the PhD program, as per Institute eligibility, rules and statutes. 2. The position is purely temporary. The initial appointment will be for one year, which is extendable up to 3 years or the end of the project based on performance. 3. At the time of joining, the selected candidate has to produce all relevant documents/testimonials in original for verification and a medical certificate of fitness from the medical officer of the institute. Failing this, the institute will offer the position to the next candidate on the merit list prepared for this purpose. CVs with incomplete information or without supporting documents will be summarily rejected.

Screening & Interview Process: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their merit and as per the requirement of the project. Mere qualification of eligibility criteria does not guarantee for shortlisting. The interview shall be tentatively conducted in the month of March, 2023. The date of interview, time and venue will be intimated to short-listed candidates via email only. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Candidates who are already employed should produce ‘No objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the present employer
