Essential Qualification & Experience
To be eligible, you should have one of the following qualifications:
- MD/MS or an equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC.
- MBBS or an equivalent degree recognized by MCI/MC with MPH from a recognized University.
- M.Sc. or MBBS or an equivalent degree recognized by MCI/MC with Ph.D. from a recognized University in a subject as given in Annexure-I.
Essential Experience
In addition to your qualifications, you should have a minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial position. You should also have a track record of handling R&D projects independently, such as being a Principal or Co-Principal Investigator of scientific studies, or heading Research Groups, Centres, Institutes, or Laboratories. Additionally, you should have at least 2 years of regular service in the Pay matrix level-13-A or an equivalent position as amended from time to time.

- If you’re currently employed in a Centre/State Government Department, Public Sector Undertakings, or Government-funded research agencies, you must submit a “No Objection Certificate” from your employer with an undertaking that you will be relieved within one month of receiving the appointment order.
- Any outside influence, whether political or otherwise, will disqualify you from the selection process.
- Matters for which no specific instructions have been given will be decided by ICMR, and their decision will be final and binding on the candidates.
